Deciding to work abroad and leave your country and your family is no easy task. Regardless of reason, homesickness and loneliness ensues. Some OFWs couldn't bear such pain and go home just after one year. Others stay for decades, especially since they have no other means to support their family.
The global markets often demand more female skilled workers than men because countries like Canada, UK, Hong Kong, and Middle Eastern countries need domestic helpers or caregivers. This means a lot of families lose their mothers, effectively leaving to men the care for their children and their other daily needs.
This is what happened to this husband who had no choice but to let his beloved wife leave their hometown to work at Oman, so that she may be able to provide for their family. But his wife did an unspeakable thing.
As soon as he learned that his wife ran off with a Pakistani, he sold everything he owned, including his most prized motorcycle, and traveled with his child all the way to Raffy Tulfo -- the latter being the only hope he has of getting his wife back.
He showed photos of the Pakistani and his wife, hugging and holding hands. Raffy Tulfo promptly called the wife by the name of Maria Theresa Espiritu, whom immediately denied all allegations.But she could not convince anyone and most especially Raffy because of all the evidence against her. Theresa kept saying that "hindi 'yan totoo, matagal na 'yan," which further cast doubt on her credibility regarding the matter.
Raffy Tulfo even read the posts that she allegedly wrote for her lover saying:
"I don't know why I have fallen in love with you. But I know for sure you are my destiny."
"I promise to stay if you promise never to leave me."
"Hold my hands and I will go anywhere with you. "
Raffy Tulfo threatened to deport her. Theresa pleaded with her husband to let her finish her contract so she can save some money. Her husband refused.
