As front liners risk their health and lives just to serve for the country and secure the people’s recovery, many of them are unknowingly contracting the virus because of the high exposure and lack of personal protective equipment (PPEs) Ever since the outbreak, it is undeniably true that we suffer inadequacy from work force and health care workers.
If many of them continue to get positive from COVID-19, how are we going to survive from this health crisis?
A notable cardiologist and former Philippine Heart Association president passed away recently because of COVID-19 and the nation mourns for another warrior lost from battle.
Dr. Raul Diaz Jara who was remembered as a loving and great father, teacher, mentor, poet, author, singer, colleague, friend by Philippine Heart Association was a great loss not only to his family but on the medical field, especially amid this pandemic where people like him are the most needed.
"It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of one of the great pillars of cardiology, PHA past president Dr. Raul Diaz Jara. “ PHA wrote on Tuesday.
“One who made you sweat as he bombards you with questions but would suddenly make you feel at ease as he breaks into a smile. Each trainee he encountered and had taught always has a story to tell about him.
“We deeply mourn for your loss but we want this more to be a celebration of your life. Philippine Cardiology will not be the same without you," PHA added
Dr. Jara's family stated their gratitude to everyone who took care of Dr. Jara until his very last breath.
What can you say about this story? Sadly, as our front liners faces the challenges and high risk of being infected just to save the country, they are just considered as the “casualty of the war against COVID-19” as it is their work in the first place to save people from any danger.
