Filipino Families are known because of our "extended family" culture. Unlike other countries who promotes living independently at age the of 18, we, Filipinos on the other hand are used to spend all of our lives being surrounded with our aunts, grand parents and cousins literally living inside one house.
Another fun thing about our culture is that our pets, especially the most domesticated ones which are the dogs and cats are treated like they were part of the family. On a literal note, they are treated like they are the youngest children in the clan.
That is why it not hard to relate when the Kapuso star Carla Abellana, who is also known for her extreme fondness on fur babies lost one of her "children" way back 2018.
The netizens mourned with her when she shared her devastating experience on social media where Sunny, her dog died on her arms.
After that incident, Carla avoided to have another pet again.
But as the time passes by, she noticed that Patches, her Jack Russel dog became more sad and pale after they lost Sunny.
On the actress Youtube channel, she shared that it made her decide to adopt two more dogs to help Patches cope up with the situation.
She also revealed that she will be adopting Aspin (Asong Pinoy) which made a lot of netizens delighted.
Carla named her new dogs Wing and Fly, whom she said that was very shy and distant at first, but later on become very comfortable around the actress.
Are you also planning to adopt a dog? According to Carla, who is an animal rights advocate as well, she adopted her new babies from PAWS, rescuing them from the shelter to give them new home. The actress also calls out for people to adopt and rescue more instead of purchasing one.
