A controversial pageant created a buzz all around Thailand after the beauty queen who won the crown got her darkest secret exposed by the media after a one careless act. Who is she and what exactly is the beauty contest she had joined that she managed to get pass the initiation rojnd without any questions regarding her background?
Khanitta Phasaeng was only 17 when she won the crown of Miss Uncensored News Thailand.
The contest, that was held 5 years ago at the Imperial World Department Store is a pageant that aims to promote same-sex partnerships. Due to this, they opened the audition for both female and transgender contestants and luckily, Khanitta was one of them.
Because of her undeniable beauty and wit, it was easy for Khanitta to win the crown. She had always been vocal about her mother, a garbage collector who inspired her a lot was the very reason she was working hard until today.
“What I have today is because of my mother. She and I make a living by doing honest work, so there is no reason why I should feel inferior” said the queen.
On one of the most touching moment of the show, Khanitta, in front of the garbage of the trash can, bowed down to her mother to show the highest form of gratitude, respect and honor on Asian culture.
Many Thai citizens got touched by the beauty queen's gesture and praised her for her humbleness and her unconditional love for her mother.
But unfortunately, Khanitta got involved in a big controversy and almost lost her crown after the Miss Uncensored News committee found out that the beauty queen lied about her educational background.
Turns out, Khanitta was not even able to finish a degree because she had not even manage to get through 3rd grade, because of their very poor situation back then.
After several investigations and debates regarding the matter, the committee decided not to take the crown from Khanitta as she truly possessed the characteristic of a true beauty queen inside and out.
