A priest was captured by the members of Philippine National Police (PNP) Cavite and PDEA during an operation conducted in Bacoor City on January 25 (Friday).
According to the police report, the authorities witnessed how the priest identified as Bishop Richard Alcantara sold a shabu to their asset.
SPO1 Christian Rosales said that an asset bought P200 worth of shabu from the priest when the transaction between them was completed, the authorities quickly captured the suspect.
They also captured the partner of the priest who’s known as ‘Perling’ in Bacoor City.
PNP and PDEA confiscated P3,400 worth of shabu from the priest.
According to the intelligence report, the priest who’s not yet named by the authorities is already known in their place as a pusher.
He admitted that he’s using shabu. However, the suspect told the members of the media that he’s only researching the effects of using it to help other people in the future.
The report of ABS-CBN news also said that the suspect was ordained in Holy Family Catholic Church in Imus.
He’s now an alleged member of Sacred Order of St. Michael, part of Russian Orthodox.
Meanwhile, a report from the Roman Catholic Church of England and Wales disowned Alcantara as their member.
“Mr. Richard Alcantara is not a priest of this Catholic Church. We remind all that he holds NO sacraments or license to dispense the sacraments or hold a Mass. He is uneducated and has no training in seminary and or any idea of how to do a simple Mass.” the report said.
“We have been clearly informed in writing that he has been informing people that he will ordain them for vast amounts of money in several countries. Furthermore, he has received vast amounts of money from faithful for his own financial gain.” the report added.
Sacred Order of St. Michael is not yet releasing a statement to confirm if Alcantara is a legitimate member of their group.
Bishop Alcantara would face cases for violating RA 9165.
