Surely by now, you've heard about JK Labajo's unfortunate incident where he launched profanities to an attendee in his gig. The rising singer has since issued a public apology for the incident, but we all know how social media's call out culture works. Nobody forgets anything these days, making it hard for people who've had misgivings to turn over a new leaf.
JK recently announced that he has deleted his social media accounts because of all the h4te messages he has been getting for a mistake that he already apologized for. He actually kept his Instagram account alive, and that's where he hurled criticisms to those who won't let him forget what happened.
The artist lamented that the country's fans are really not ready for the rock and roll scene, where being crass is actually a norm. He also said it's unfair that a certain female celebrity can get away with saying those words because she's perceived as cute. Meanwhile, he is getting all flak just by being himself.
He says he does not understand how people would prefer the sugarcoated angelic version of people just because it's easier to swallow down!
It's really unfortunate that an artist like JK would be forced to let go of his social media credentials, which he used to market his stuff, just because some righteous people wouldn't allow him to move on from a mistake that he has apologized for.
We just hope that people find it in their hearts to forgive and forget. JK is an amazing artist who is just trying to find himself in this treacherous and uphill industry.
May he recover from this mistake, given that he has admitted his misgivings. He makes good music, after all. Let's all just continue to enjoy what he brings to the table and leave the judging to the judges.
