Keempee de Leon is fighting for his right to be a guest on Kapamilya noontime show 'It's Showtime without losing his regular stint over at Eat Bulaga! However, things are not going so smoothly for him. In an interview, Keempee revealed how he was asked to relinquish his post over at GMA! Up to this day, it's still unclear to the veteran TV host why GMA executives would do such a thing to him even though he has been with them for 14 long years.
Indeed, you'd think Keempee de Leon would be untouchable in the industry, since he is the son of one of Eat Bulaga's founding pillars, that's Joey de Leon. However, his case just proved how hard the industry could be, and how one mistake could cost you your entire career. He narrates how a string of misunderstandings eventually led to him being dismissed from his beloved show.
Of course, we have to take into account that Keempee failed to secure his father's approval before taking on these other gigs.
But what really grinds Keempee's gears is that there are certain people-- other people who are still with the show despite being indicted in one too many controversies. He cites the case of Wally Bayola, whose indecent video with an EB Babe went viral, for all the wrong reasons.
Keempee is questioning why Wally was allowed to come back to the show despite that incident, while he, who was simply doing extra work on the side, was barred from doing his own main show!
For Keempee, it was quite unfair. This prompted him to just return to the Kapamilya station. Well, this is good news for his Kapamilya fans who prefer to see him with Showtime than Eat Bulaga! All the best to your career, Keemps!
