ABS CBN actor and Pamilya Ko lead star JM De Guzman also participated for fund raising drive to help the people amid COVID-19 outbreak and Enhanced Community Quarantine. Just like the other celebrities who asked for their fans help for donations such as Bella Padilla and Maine Mendoza, De Guzman aims to gather PPEs for front liners.
Since essential amount Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) are what our health workers mainly needs to continue accommodating the patients while making sure they are protected as well, De Guzman called out for his Triskelion Brothers to join the project and help.
The announcement of the actor was under his network’s call on private companies and individuals to partake on assisting the medical front liners and the citizens who are mainly affected by the pandemic and ECQ.
ABS CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, who initiated this campaign called “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig” asked for the help of their biggest stars to ask for their fans and supporters who would like to take part on their activity.
But apparently, De Guzman was questioned by one of his followers about the video (ABS CBN's official statement about Pantawid ng Pag-ibig) he posted on his social media account about their motives upon collecting money.
The fan said that as of now, there are too many people asking for donations and it might be a cause of corruption. The follower also added that it might be better if they let the government handle the drive for transparency.
Meanwhile, the actor did not bother to argue with the user and instead respected his opinion towards their pure intentions.
“I respect your opinion and priorities,” De Guzman replied.
Do you agree on what the fan thinks? Should the donations from the companies and celebrities stop and let one branch of the government handle this for better and clear information for the public? What do you think about this? Share us in the comment section your thoughts!
