Behind the smiles and quick laughter of Pinoy Big Brother Otso Housemate William "Yamyam" Gucong, lies a life of poverty he's been living his whole life. Yamyam came from a poor family, and that's one of his inspirations why he fights to be the next PBB Big Winner.
Yamyam's fun and lighthearted atitude may be the reasons why you first got hooked with the "Iskulit Bai of Bohol". His easy manner with his housemates especially with Fumiya Sankai can also be applauded.
But aside from all of these obvious qualities, did you know that this wacky nice guy is also intelligent?
Yes, you heard it right. Yamyam Gucong recently posted photos of his report card on Twitter and became the talk of the town. And why wouldn't he? He garnered an average grade of 91.286 in the first semester and received a 92.375 grade for the second semester His grades in Philospohy, Physical Education and Health, Practical Research, Philippine Politics and Governance, and Introduction to World Religions and Belief Systems were all at 90 above.
Meanwhile, the Boholano consistently got a line of nine grade in Research Project Culminating Activity, Trends, Networks, and Critical Thinking in the 21st Century, among others.
Recall that Yamyam had to quit school because of his financial struggles, but this did not stop him for trying to reach his goals. He is now a Grade 12 student and is a step closer to becoming a college graduate, and the Big winner of PBB Otso.
Netizens praised the man for his hard work and perseverance and took note of how passionate he was in achieving his dreams. Some even commented that such a feat is worthy of inspiration and even called him "petmalu" or awesome.
