Traditionally, fathers would do anything to protect their daughters. Even when their daughters find someone to love them, they are usually very conservative and protective of their daughters and intimidate any man who has any potential to hurt his child.
But this man took this to the next level. You see, Arnon Rodthong is a 58-year-old multi-millionaire. He owns a durian fruit farm in Chumpnon, southern Thailand. He has a 26-year-old daughter named Karnsita whom helps him in the family business. And for his daughter to live a happy life, he offered 10 million baht, or at least 1.6 million pesos to anyone who would marry her.
Aside from the cash prize, he will also have the guy inherit his huge durian farm, the biggest in the area, and is estimated to be valued at 7 million pounds! Try counting that much money!
In Thailand, a man must also pay for the dowry of his soon-to-be wife. But Arnon also insists on waiving that off.
He said: "I want someone to take care of my business and make it last. I don't want a person with a bachelor's, or master's or philosopher's degree.
"I want a diligent man. I just want someone with a hard-working attitude. That's all."
The crazy thing about this is that Arnon has several other children, including his own sons, but despite this, he said that he will offer everything up for his beloved daughter's husband-to-be.
"As soon as I have an in-law, I will give up all my assets to him," he said.
Well, it's as if Karnsita is not a catch unto herself! Aside from obviously being a really beautiful woman, she speaks English and Chinese fluently, too!
She was surprised but not really at her father's sudden move and hinted that her future husband may have to work for the money her father offered because she normally would spend it getting cosmetic enhancements in Korea.
"I first found out about my father's post when my friend's showed me, " she said.
"I was surprised but I can see the funny side to it, too. It is true that I am still single. If I have to get married with someone, I only want him to be a diligent and good person who loves his family."
