How far are you willing to go to spite your ex-lover? Going through a messy break-up can definitely send a person into a downward spiral. But instead of moping in a corner, others choose to get back at their ex by improving themselves.
Among those people is this single mother from Vietnam. For most of her life, 28-year-old Huyen from Ho Chi Minh has been unhappy with her physical appearance. Her tanned skin and monolids became her insecurities, and her physique will eventually cause her a lot of demise along the way.
She was about to get married to her partner, whom she was a child with, but the man's family stood in the way of their marriage. Apparently, the superficial family did not approve of Huyen's physical appearance. This led to their break-up, which prompted Huyen to work to support her child on her own.
Determined not to experience humiliation again, Huyen devised a plan to change her looks. While working in the city, she saves money for her cosmetic operation. Little by little, she went under the knife to fix her 'undesired' body parts. Soon enough, after a couple of successful surgeries, Huyen is now barely recognizable!
With her new looks came a sense of confidence. Huyen's self-esteem rose, which eventually helped her in her work. But all of it came with a price. According to reports online, Huyen spent more than RM 18,000 or Php 232,000 in cosmetic procedures! Nevertheless, the confidence that she earned from it is definitely priceless.
On the other hand, even though things worked out for Huyen, we don't want her story to send a wrong message for other women out there. The best way to make other people like you is not by changing yourself completely, but by finding that one special person who will accept you no matter what.
